Appalachian Regional Commission and immigration law firms in Washington DC area offer business work visas. |
||||
| The Appalachian Regional Commission program is limited to physicians who have completed residency training in a primary care field, which is generally defined as internal medicine, family practice, general practice, pediatrics, general psychiatry or obstetrics and gynecology, and the physician must agree to practice such primary care. Regulations in certain states preclude participation in a waiver program if subsequent fellowship training was received, even where it is intended that primary care be practiced exclusively in order to meet the waiver obligation. In order to apply for an exemption (waiver) of the job offer requirement as an advanced degree professional, an applicant must submit clear and convincing evidence to support the claim that such an exemption would be in the national interest. The E work visa category was established to give effect to treaties between the United States and foreign countries that provide for reciprocal benefits to nationals of each country who conduct trade between the two countries or who invest in the other country. The E-1 visa category applies to treaty traders and the E-2 visa category applies to treaty investors, as discussed below. Employees of a treaty foreign national business immigration or entity may be classified as E-1 or E-2 if the employee is or will be engaged in executive, managerial or supervisory duties, or if the employee has special qualifications that make the services to be rendered essential to the efficient operation of the enterprise.
